Dell to launch gaming handheld in future?
![]()
A senior Dell executive has admitted the company could look to make a gaming handheld in future.
Global gaming chief Abizar Vakharia was speaking at Dell’s European Innovation event in Marbella. There, Dell had earlier launched the XPS 710 H2C top-line gaming PC.
When quizzed about a future handheld, Vakharia looked serious as he said: “You know, that’s definitely one that’s on the radar screen, but we have no plans to talk about anything today.”
Dell has made no secret of its desire to grow share in the gaming space, underlined by last year’s acquisition of Alienware, but it would be some departure for such a major box shifter to launch a portable gaming device.
Any such handheld would be almost certainly a Ultra-Mobile PC (UMPC) style device because of Dell’s close connections with Intel and Microsoft .
Toshiba spoils 911T uber phone with Oakley MP3 crud

Toshiba’s 911T cellphone will come with a pair of Oakley wireless headphones when it launches on Japan’s Softbank this spring. The slider-type cellphone makes many of our cellphones look like toys, what with its support for HSDPA, 1GB built-in flash (plus microSD), 3-in. screen and 3.2-megapixel camera. The Oakley glasses might not be everyone’s idea of stylin’ and profilin’, but they definitely match the 911T’s overall aesthetic. I’d wear ‘em (but wouldn’t purchase ‘em separately, that’s for sure).
Drivemocion

Just when you thought you couldn’t annoy more people with your incessant use of emoticons in email, text messages and IM’s along comes the Drivemocion. LED messages are all over the place, in jackets, badges and belts so why not in your car? This battery powered, suction cup mounted rear window display comes with a wireless controller for you to use inside and allows you to chose from the 2, 3 and 5 messages versions featuring Smiley face and Sad face in addition to up to three pre-programmed messages. But since “Thanks” and “Backoff” are way too tame and “Idiot” is only at the tip of the iceberg of this product’s potential, we know you’re holding out for the one where you can program your own epic and witty messages. Cause nothing says classy like an LED message that reads “Last time some guy got that far up my ass he bought me dinner first”
Swatch Concept

It’s a concept by British designer Laurence Dawes based on a bicycle pump tube. Even though those floating numerals might be a bit difficult to manufacture, we think the concept is sufficiently eye-catching to warrant that coveted Swatch thumbs-up anyway.
Since this design was created in 2005, we’re figuring it’s high time Swatch took notice and picked this one up.

Girl Sings Love Song to 24-inch Apple Display
This girl sings that terrible James Blunt song “You’re Beautiful,” but changes the lyrics to be about a Mac Pro with 24-inch cinema display. She then videotapes herself fawning over said computer at the Apple store and cuts it with her singing.
If you ever wanted solid evidence that Apple fanboys and fangirls are totally bonkers, here you go.
